Greetings

안녕하세요? How are you? Hello/ How do you do?
It's a greeting that asks about the other person's well-being. This expression can be used at any time of the day.
안녕! is used among children.

안녕히계세요 Goodbye (to the one staying). It literally means 'Please stay in peace'.
안녕히가세요 Goodbye (to the one leaving). It literally means 'Please go in peace'.

여보세요? Hello (on the telephone)

오래간만이에요 Long time, no see

잘 있었니 How have you been? (to a child or a junior)

Hangul (한글, the Korean Alphabet)




Hangul consists of 40 letters. It has 21 vowels and 19 consonants; among these 40 letters, 24 are the basic letters while the other 16 are compounds formed from the basic letters.


Vowels
When you write a vowel which does not have syllable consonant, you must write the consonant 'ㅇ'. In this case, 'ㅇ' is a null consonant which merely indicates the absence of a syllable-initial consonant.
Simple vowel ㅏ,ㅓ,ㅗ,ㅜ,ㅡ,ㅣ,ㅐ,ㅔ
Diphthongs ㅑ,ㅕ,ㅛ,ㅠ,ㅖ,ㅒ,ㅘ,ㅙ,ㅝ,ㅞ,ㅚ,ㅟ,ㅢ

Consonants
In Korean, the consonant is always pronounced in combination with a vowel. However, each consonant has its own name.
Plain consonants ㄱ,ㄴ,ㄷ,ㄹ,ㅁ,ㅂ,ㅅ,ㅇ,ㅈ
Aspirated consonants ㅋ,ㅌ,ㅍ,ㅊ,ㅎ
Glottalized consonants ㄲ,ㄸ,ㅃ,ㅆ,ㅉ

Korean Language

- More than 70 million people speak korean.
- In terms of the number of speakers, Korean is rated 11th among all languages in the world.
- Some people consider Korean to be in the Altaic Language family.
- Korean is a verb-or adjective-final language.
- Korean is a "macro -to-micro" language.
- Korean is a situation-oriented language.

- Korean is written in Hangul ("the great writing") and chinese characters.
- Hangul was created by King Sejong the Great, the 4th king of the Choseon dynasty, and his royal scholars in 1443.
- Hangul is one of the most scientific writing systems that has ever been created.
